McIntosh Shows MX-150 AV Controller
In conjunction with showing their 60th anniversary legacy products, McIntosh is introducing the new MX-150 AV controller featuring Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, HDMI 1.3 capability Room Perfect auto-EQ functionality. The Room Perfect system was developed by Steinway-Lyngdorf, a Danish company that also manufactures high-end audio components. I've used the Room Perfect room equalization system in my listening room with excellent sonic results. The MX-150 also includes software for additional set-up and equalization functions to fine tune it for each installation. The seven-channel MX-150 maintains the classic McIntosh look and has five HDMI inputs, an AES-EBU balanced-line input and balanced outputs, RS-232 control capability and video scaling to 1080p resolution. The MX-150 is a two-zone controller and both zones can be controlled from the front panel or learning remote control via on-screen display. The MX-150 in the photo is a prototype, but when it becomes available in April, 2009 it is expected to sell for $12,000. < Previous Post | Blog Home | Next Post >
