Nothing To Photograph Here, Move Along Please.

Posted Tue Jan 9, 2007, 4:50 PM ET — By Shane Buettner

I couldn't help myself with this one. As mentioned previously, Samsung amazed us by parking these "No Photos" signs all over its booth at CES. For all appearances, someone didn't want us taking pictures and talking up Samsung's new gear. Why show the stuff then?

Fortunately if one is persistent enough to ask a PR person will escort members of the press through the booth and allow some photos. But this was a new one on us, and frankly comedic. Never had to beg to publicize a company's products at a trade show before. But I ain't too proud!

This I posted on the Cinematography mailing List I fully agree that they blew it! Mark Forman Samsung Terminally unfriendly people with no photography allowed in their large space ( the only manufacturer where I saw these signs). I did not see anything new and they were not approachable except for one person who wondered why they had these no photo signs there as well. if anyone else who attended the show please tell me what you saw in their display area?
